Dance Costume Decoration, Maprik area, Abelam People. These are stuck in dance costumes like feathers. It is made of palm spathe sewn with rattan. This piece was collected by Ron Perry on 19 Decemberr 1974 in Maputma Village, just northwest of Maprik. It was exhibited at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary Canada in 1989 in the exhibit Place-Talk: Objects of Meaning to Papua New Guinea Peoples. The overall height is 19.75 inches with the actual decoration at 13.75 inches high. Custom mounted. Priced at $240 plus $10 for shipping.* Total cost $250
