Dimeri Village Clay Figure. Clay for making pottery of any kind is relatively rare on the Sepik. One of the few areas where there is proper clay is around Dimeri Village on the Yuat River, a tributary of the lower Sepik River. The villagers are known for their whimsical fired clay figures and small pots. This lady stand 7.75 inches tall. Collected in Dimeri Village in November of 1976.
