This striking mask comes from what is known as the Grasslands near the Sepik River of New Guinea. It comes from an old collection of a man who lived in the Highlands of New Guinea and collected a lot of nice pieces. It has some commercial red paint, which back in the day was highly prized because of its brightness and durability. Dates to the 1960’s. It is 20.75 inches tall. It has an unknown collection sticker on the back.
