The interiors of men’s houses in a number of places along the Sepik River are decorated with colorful painted panels known as pangols. Many are made of bark or spathe but this one is wood. The usually depict ancestor faces and clan totemic images. This old panel was collected in 1975. It is 22 inches by 16 inches.
