Art & Artifacts > Very Fine Lower Sepik Amulet Ancestor Mask - 10989 - SOLD

A superb and very refined amulet mask collected in the Sepik River village of Maramba in December of 1976. The mask itself is 7 inches tall not including the rattan hanger. No paint remaining, if it every had any, just a nice dark old patina. Circa 1960’s.

I recently obtained a group of artifacts from legendary New Guinea collector Ron Perry. He collected them in situ in the fall of 1976. They all came from an unopened crate from that time, so none have been seen or sold before.
